The 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is redesigned for this year. Mercedes hasn’t released a complete list of specifications, but we know the M-Class will be available as an ML350 4Matic or ML350 Bluetec. The ML350 4Matic comes standard with all-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter, gas-powered V6 engine that makes 302 horsepower, which will likely get approximately 17/22 mpg city/highway, according to Car and Driver. The ML350 Bluetec comes with a 3.0-liter diesel V6 that makes 240 horsepower and will get an estimated 20/25 mpg city/highway. Car and Driver also reports that later in the year, buyers will likely be able to purchase M-Classes with a 4.7-liter V8 engine or a gas-electric ML450 hybrid. There are also reports that Mercedes-Benz will offer a diesel-electric hybrid engine in the M-Class later this year, but the company has been tight-lipped about its timeline, price and availability. Finally, the ML63 AMG will be available later in the 2012 model year from Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance department.

Chevrolet Cruze News.

The Detroit News reports that the diesel version of the Chevrolet Cruze will be manufactured at the General Motors Lordstown, Ohio plant. GM is slated to retool the facility's body shop and assembly line next year through a $5.5-million investment, according to Tom Mock, a spokesman for GM. The Lordstown facility already produces the gasoline Cruze on three shifts Monday through Friday in order to keep up with demand. The Detroit News reports that the plant has recently taken to operating on the weekends to maintain the volume, as well.
The diesel Chevrolet Cruze is set to arrive in 2013, and though GM hasn't released any official powerplant decisions or fuel-economy estimates as of yet, the vehicle is expected to return somewhere around 50 miles per gallon when it arrives. This is the first legitimate diesel passenger car effort from a domestic manufacturer in years, and rumors indicate the vehicle will come boasting a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with around 147 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque.

It also set a monthly sales record in October for the second month in a row. The next Chevy Aveo to be sold in North America has already debuted overseas as the Gentra in South Korea and Aveo in China.

Audi Cargo Liners.

The new Audi R8 GT Spyder got an early unveiling outside the Audi Racing Pavillion at the 2011 24 Hours of LeMans yesterday evening. The 552 hp V10 drop-top rocket uses carbon fiber panels and a lightened interior to lower weight compared to the standard R8 5.2 FSI quattro Spyder. Audi claims 62 mph arrives in just 3.8 seconds, and the car tops out at 197 mph.
All that horsepower travels through a six-speed sequential-manual gearbox with paddle shifters, along with an all-wheel drive system that uses a viscous coupling and rear-wheel-drive bias. Rounding out the package, Audi says updated aerodynamics versus the R8 Spyder help increase high-speed downforce: The package includes a dual-lip front splitter and different rear diffuser.
How about that roof? Audi says it opens in a mere 20 seconds, and can be dropped at speeds of up to 30 mph, after which it tucks itself beneath a carbon-fiber rear boot.
As with the R8 GT coupe, the R8 GT Spyder will be assembled in a run of just 333 cars at Audi's Neckarsulm manufacturing plant in Germany.
